Cashion dominates OBA; within striking distance of unbeaten regular season

Cashion’s march toward what it hopes is a third consecutive undefeated regular season took it through the western part of Enid last week.
Turns out, it was more of casual stroll.
Despite finding themselves tied in the first quarter, the Wildcats had no trouble in disposing of Oklahoma Bible Academy 53-7.
The victory pushes Cashion’s mark to 8-0 this season and 3-0 in District A-3.
The program has now gone three calendar years without a loss in the regular season. The last defeat was Oct. 6, 2017, against Crescent (Cashion’s Week 10 opponent this season).
The Trojans got a dose of what all Cashion opponents have dealt with so far this season: The Wildcats’ offensive versatility.
Cashion out-gained OBA 451-146 as Ben Harman threw for 226 yards and the team ran for 198.
After OBA tied the game in the first quarter on a 32-yard pass from Bodie Boydstun to Jud Cheatham, the Wildcats answered with 33 straight points before the end of the half and 46 straight to end the game.
The unanswered points saw Harman connect with four different receivers for touchdowns.
That included hitting Landon LaGasse for a 57-yard score, Mason Manning from 47 yards and Jackson Vandruff for a 16-yard TD.
Also included was a 2-yard strike to Brexten Green, who had a 51- yard score in the first quarter.
In all, Harman was 12 of 19 with five TDs.
Manning caught five passes for 78 yards while Green hauled in five for 75.
For good measure, coach Lynn Shackelford called Caden Harrell’s number nine times.
He turned those limited touches into 151 yards, including TD runs of 9, 58 and 1 yards.
Harrell also had eight tackles on defense.
Justice Broadbent led the squad with nine tackles.
Nick Nabavi’s six tackles included four for a loss.
OBA was limited to just eight first downs, turned it over twice and was forced to punt six times.
Cashion didn’t punt.
The Wildcats return home for their final two games of the regular season, which come against the other top teams in District A-3.
They host Tonkawa (6-1) this Friday as the Bucs are the only other unbeaten district team. Crescent’s (6-1, 3-1) only defeat thus far is to Tonkawa.
