Even in an unfamiliar gym, Lomega keeps finding a way to light up the scoreboard.

The Lady Raiders on Saturday knocked down 17 3-pointers as part of their 86-37 victory over Hennessey in the Downtown Enid Basketball Festival at the Stride Bank Center.

The win was the 18th straight for Lomega, which improved to 21-2 with two regular season games left.

In most of those wins, the Lomega offense has been unstoppable. Since a 47-32 win over Calumet on Dec. 14, which avenged one of the two losses, the Lady Raiders scored at least 72 points all but once.

Lomega didn’t start on such a pace against Hennessey as it built a 14-7 lead after a quarter.

Eleven of those points - including three 3-pointers - came from Adysen Wilson.

It got going in the second quarter when Hensley Eaton and Emma Duffy picked up the scoring slack.

They combined for 16 points as Lomega went on a 26-10 run for a 23-point halftime lead.

Eaton made two 3-pointers in the second and then two more in the third.

However, it was Duffy who began lighting it up after the break.

The junior knocked down three quick treys and added another before the end of the frame.

She scored 14 points in the third period alone and finished her day with a game-high 25.

Duffy made five 3-pointers while Eaton and Wilson had four apiece.

Shelby Russell added two more.

Wilson ended her night with 20 points and Eaton scored 14.

None of the three leading scorers saw the court in the fourth quarter.

Russell scored eight.

Hennessey was led by Kassidy Amburn’s nine points.

Skye Simunek and Juliana Macy scored six apiece.

The loss dropped Hennessey to 6-10.

Hennessey uses strong 2nd quarter to pull away from Lomega

A dominant second quarter propelled the Hennessey boys to a 57-44 win over Lomega in the Downtown Enid Basketball Festival.

The Eagles went on a 24-7 run in the second quarter to open up an 18-point lead.

That proved to be too much for the Raiders to overcome in the second half.

Hennessey’s zone was able to limit Noah Snowden’s effectiveness in the lane.

Snowden scored 12 points, but had just four field goals.

It was Riley Lumpkin who led the second-half charge.

Lumpkin scored 12 of his team-high 15 points in the second half as Lomega cut its deficit to single digits.

But Hennessey’s early firepower was too much to overcome.

The Eagles made nine of their 10 3-pointers through the first three quarters.

Juan Dominguez nailed four of them, including two in the decisive second frame.

Cristian Rodriguez also had two treys in that quarter.

Angel Rodriguez showed off his range with two deep treys in the third.

In all, Dominguez made four 3-pointers and ended his night with 22 points.

He scored six late points to help Hennessey preserve its lead.

Angel Rodriguez scored 15 and Cristian Rodriguez 11.

Hennessey moved to 13-3 with the win. Lomega dropped to 15-8.
