Neal 2nd at Cushing

Blake Neal was runner-up at 182 pounds to highlight Kingfisher’s showing at the 2020 Cushing Tiger Invitational.

Neal earned narrow decisions in the quarterfi - nals and semifi nals before eventually being outlasted, 3-2, by Weatherford’s Mike Hixson in the championship match.

He had knocked off Grant Baber of Cascia Hall, 5-2, and Wyatt Grinnell of McAlester, 5-3, en route to the fi nals.

The KHS senior scored 24 of Kingfisher’s 74 points and was the team’s lone placer.

The Jackets placed 17th out of a loaded 41-team fi eld.

Allen (Texas) won the meet with 324.5 points while Collinsville was second with 202. Cushing took third with 176.5.
