Garber sweeps through Dover, Crescent
Apparently still smarting from their first and only loss of the season, the Garber boys basketball team took out some frustrations on Crescent and Dover last week.
The Wolverines showed little mercy Monday in a 78-31 home win against the Tigers or Tuesday in a 108-38 victory in Dover.
Ranked fourth in Class A, Garber was defeated by Cashion in the finals of its own tournament the previous Saturday.
After thumping Crescent, Garber scored at least 24 points in every quarter against Dover.
Five Wolverines scored in double figures, led by Daegan Vandiver’s 18 points.
Joriaun Caldwell paced Dover with 21 points.
Lady Wolverines
get comeback victory
Garber’s girls made it a clean sweep both nights.
They held off Crescent 61-51 before beating Dover 70-32.
Crescent actually led 22-9 after a quarter, but Garber was able to cut into most of that by halftime. The Lady Wolverines then closed the game on a 21-7 run.
There was no early letdown against Dover as Garber was up 24-9 after a quarter.
Dover got nine points apiece from Madi Moeller, Yareli Obeso and Yazaret Gamez.
