Eric ‘Red’ Jeter
Eric Edward “Red” Jeter, 46 years young, of Warr Acres, fell asleep in Jesus on Tuesday Jan. 29, 2019.
Eric came into this world kicking and screaming with a head full of bright red hair on May 22, 1972.
He was the first child of James and Kathy Jeter. He was born in Kingfisher Regional Hospital and was raised in Bethany.
Eric went to school at Parkview Adventist Academy from elementary school until he graduated in 1991. He studied at OSU-OKC for a short term after graduation, working on his basics.
He was a longtime member of the Hope Adventist Fellowship Church in Moore.
Eric had a couple of odd jobs in his teenage years before starting at Bethany General Hospital in maintenance and housekeeping in 1990 at the age of 17. He continued to work there until the hospital closed in 1999.
From there, he went to work for Cura Health, working in maintenance from 2000 until his passing.
Eric was dedicated and an extremely hard worker. He also worked alongside his brother, Mark, on many housing jobs.
He was a huge sports fan and especially loved OU Sooners football, Thunder basketball and the Dallas Cowboys.
He was a huge animal lover and advocate. He always took great care of his brother and sister-in-law’s dog Noah; they were great buddies.
In addition, Eric greatly enjoyed fishing and was a car enthusiast.
He was a man of few words but had a heck of a sense of humor and a heart of gold. Eric was selfless in all that he did.
Having made the decision to be an organ donor, we find peace and comfort in knowing that Eric’s legacy will continue forever in the lives he has changed.
Eric is survived by his mother Kathy Jeter of Piedmont; his brother Mark Jeter and wife Sabrina of Piedmont; his step-grandmother Shirley Jeter of Kingfisher; his aunt Linda Kester of Kingfisher; his aunt Sherry Kennon of Kingfisher; his aunt and uncle Dennis and Alberta Wood of Haskell; and several cousins - Brian and Melissa Wilson, Jeremy and Amanda Kester, Alicia and Blake Wilczek, Kim and Kyle Coughlan, Christopher and Melissa Wood, Laura Wood, Logan Johnson, Gabe Kester, Gavin Kester, and Daniel Coughlan - all who love him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father James Jeter, his grandparents Alvin and Nadine Blehm, and grandparents Earl and Anna Mae Jeter.
Services to honor Eric’s life are 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 4, at Hope Adventist Fellowship Church, 1426 N.E. 12th St., Moore, OK.
Burial will follow at Kingfisher Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at Hope Adventist Fellowship. Condolences may be shared at www.moorefuneralcremation.com.
