Four appears to be the magic number for the Kingfisher High School boys soccer team.

The Jackets won their second straight match to open their 2025 season on Thursday with a 4-2 victory over visiting Cache.

That came after KHS won 4-3 at Bristow last Friday.

In that season opening win, Eduardo de la Torre earned a hat trick, which included two goals in the final 6:15 to get the comefrom- behind win.

The Jackets took the lead in the first half with a header by Hayden Green.

Then it became the de la Torre show.

He put the Jackets up 2-1 later in the match before the Pirates stormed back to take a 3-2 lead into the closing minutes.

Then, with just over 6 minutes remaining, Santiago Ortega sailed a 25-yard pass to de la Torre, who beat a defender and the keeper to tie up the match.

Just three minutes later, Ortega launched a throwin to de la Torre, who got the defender on his hip in front of the goal and found the back of the net for the winner.

Ortega had three assists while Rhett Schlegel added another.

The Jackets scored the first four goals in Thursday’s matchup with the visiting Bulldogs.

This time, de la Torre was the setup man as he assisted on the first goal.

He passed to Abel Guzman who hit the top right corner for a 1-0 lead barely three minutes into the match.

With 7 minutes left in the first half, Ortega pushed it up the home sideline, then sent a crossing pass to Jake Sisk right in front of the goal. Sisk scored the punch-in to make it 2-0.

Sisk was then credited with his second goal when the Bulldogs scored an own goal eight minutes into the second half.

The Jackets quickly made it 4-0 when Ortega scored with 31:16 remaining.

The Lady Jackets fell 2-1 in their match with Cache.

Kingfisher scored first and just over two minutes into it when Kinlee East found Yesenia Rivera for a goal.

The Lady Bulldogs then scored twice to close out the first half before the teams played to a stalemate in the second.

Liliana Garramone had three saves for the Lady Jackets.

They fell to 0-2 with the loss.

They were downed 4-1 at Bristow last Friday.

Ariana Rivera scored the lone goal on an assist from Rivera.
