ACADEMIC STATE CHAMPIONS

HITTING THE BOOKS – The Kingfi sher High School girls basketball team saw its season come to a close Wednesday night with a loss to Locust Grove in the Class 4A state quarterfi nals at State Fair Arena (See Story on Page 7). However, the team didn’t come home empty-handed. The Lady Jackets were recognized as the Class 4A girls academic state champions that evening. It’s the third academic state title for a KHS girls program this school year. Both the cross country and fastpitch softball teams were also academic state champs during their seasons.
