Herman Rother

Herman Joseph Rother died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, at his home in Okarche.

He was born March 5, 1941, in Okarche.

Herman moved to Cheyenne Wells, Colo., in 1961 and was proud to serve as mayor of Cheyenne Wells from 1976 to 1984.

He moved back to Oklahoma in 1990.

Herman was a farmer- rancher and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters, Lions Club and Elks Lodge.

He is survived by a brother, Edward Rother and wife Carol of Okarche and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, Vincent and Patronella (Alig) Rother; brothers, Gerald, Harold and Vincent Rother; and sister, Virginia Simpson, preceded him in death.

Mass of Christian Burial was 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Zachary Boazman and Deacon Max Schwarz officiating.

Burial followed in the Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Huber- Benson Funeral Home.
