Lady Jacket grapplers runners-up at Hub City
A pair of champions led the Kingfisher High School girls to a runner-up finish at the Hub City Classic wrestling tournament in Clinton.
Rylee Hamil won at 115 pounds and Delissa Evans at 140 pounds.
They were joined by two other medalists as KHS scored 46 points.
Hinton won the team title with 56.
Hamil earned a pair of first-period pins for her gold medal.
She pinned Alyda Herbert of Hinton in 1:19 and Madison Statswell of Altus in just 12 seconds.
Evans went 3-0 in her matches.
They included pins at 1:37 over Clinton’s Khloe Easter and at 1:12 over Asiah Maddox of Elk City. Evans also earned a 12-8 decision against Clinton’s Kassandra Kaline.
Taygen Otey went 3-1 in her matches and was the runner-up at 120 pounds.
Otey pinned Jasmine Hocker of Altus in 1:17, Montana Marzullo of Marlow in 50 seconds and Ama Lara of Hinton in 1:35. Her lone loss was to Baylor Moore of Cordell.
Shelby Willson was the bronze medalist at 105 pounds as she was 1-2 in her matches. The win was a fall at 1:13 over Peyton Clonce of Clinton.
