Points weren’t easy for Anadarko to come by when the Lady Warriors visited Kingfisher last Friday night.

Unfortunately, they were even harder for the home team.

Posting its lowest scoring total of the season, Class 4A’s fourth-ranked KHS was knocked off 38-34 by Class 3A No. 3 Anadarko at the APB.

The point total was 12 points fewer than the previous season low, which came in a loss to Deer Creek.

Kingfisher had only three first-half field goals against Anadarko’s smothering defense and two of those came at or near the buzzer to mark the end of the first and second quarters.

Anadarko, which scored the game’s first nine points, staked an 18-8 halftime lead.

The third quarter didn’t bode much better for the Lady Jackets.

Anadarko scored the second half’s first four points and was up 28-17 going into the fourth.

Anytime Kingfisher would make any kind of charge, Anadarko would have an answer.

The Lady Jacket defense gave the team opportunities.

Although Anadarko shot 50 percent from the floor, the Lady Warriors got just 28 attempts.

Kingfisher forced 20 turnovers, but just couldn’t capitalize.

The Lady Jackets were 12 of 39 (30.8 percent) from the floor, including 2 of 13 (15.4 percent) from 3-point range.

Kingfisher also had 20 turnovers of its own.

Adlee Friesen and Ela Hartman led the team with 9 points apiece.

Raegan Snider scored seven, all in the second half.

Anadarko was led by Heaven Haywood’s 21 points.

Haywood scored 14 in the second half, including a pair of three-point plays.
