Okarche only managed to score two runs Thursday in its state quarterfinal game.

Brett Carnott said that was enough.

The Warrior righthander pitched a complete game and out-dueled Amber- Pocasset ace Jackson Riley as Okarche edged the Panthers 2-1 at Edmond Santa Fe High School.

The victory advanced Okarche to the Class A semifinals for the third straight season dating back to last fall.

The third-ranked Warriors (23-6) played No. 2 Rattan (27-4) Friday afternoon after press time of this edition.

Okarche started hot against Riley as Luke Hill led off the top of the first with a double.

Carnott helped his cause two batters later with an RBI single and, after stealing second, scored on Colin Hendrickson’s base hit.

Riley settled in to get out of the inning, then settled in for the rest of the game.

He only allowed one more Okarche hit over the final six innings and only three Warriors reached base during that stretch.

But the damage had already been done.

Am-Po picked up an unearned run off Hill in the bottom of the first, but that was it.

The Panthers threatened in the bottom of the third when Zach Horry led off with a single and was able to advance to second.

However, he was thrown out at home to end the inning on a relay from Easton Roby.

The Panthers got a runner on base in each of the final four frames, but couldn’t bring another one home.

Carnott surrendered five hits, struck out five and walked two.

Riley struck out eight and gave up just two hits.

Rattan defeated Sterling 3-2 in their quarterfinal game.

The Rams have won 18 straight games after starting the season 9-4. One of those losses was 7-6 to Okarche on Aug. 23.

Rattan beat Okarche 5-1 in last fall’s semifinals.
