Danny Vaverka

The funeral for Danny “Bohunk” Vaverka, 68, was Saturday Sept. 14, at First Christian Church of Hennessey officiated by Rev. Ish Engle.

Danny was born in Enid on Sept. 5, 1956, to Tom and Betty Morrow Vaverka and died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, in Wichita, Kan.

Danny was a concrete contractor, having worked alongside his father Tom for the majority of his life. For the past 27 years he has been a chemical applicator, working his way up to owning Vaverka Spraying Service.

He is survived by son Cody Vaverka of Tonkawa; ex-wife and best friend Karen Patton of Blackwell; brother Gary Macy and sister Jo Byrd of Hennessey; one niece and four nephews.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, uncle Ray Layne and his bonus daughter Sabra Patton.
