Kingfisher keeps win streak alive at MSM
The top of Kingfisher’s lineup did its job Monday as the Lady Jackets kept their win streak intact.
And - for the second straight game - the team’s nine-hole batter knocked one out of the park.
Spots 1-4 in the lineup collected eight hits and 8 RBIs as KHS drummed Mount St. Mary 16-1 in a District 4A-1 road game.
Kingfisher upped its mark to 10-1 with its 10th straight win. The team moved to 2-1 in district games.
The Lady Jackets scored 13 runs in their final two at-bats in the five-inning run rule win.
Up 4-0 with two outs in the top of the fourth inning, Kendall Farrar ignited a six-run surge before the frame ended.
The freshman took the first pitch she saw in the at-bat and launched it over the centerfield fence for a two-run shot.
Liliana Garramone added an RBI single and Lily Voth a two-run triple to help KHS stake a 10-0 lead.
KHS added another big fifth inning, this time scoring five runs with two outs.
Adlee Friesen and Garramone had consecutive RBI doubles before Kinlee East and Voth drove in a run with their singles.
Friesen and Garramone both finished 3 for 4 and scored three times each. Garramone drove in two runs and Friesen one.
East and Voth were both 2 for 4. East scored three times and had 2 RBIs. Voth had 3 RBIs and scored twice.
Farrar finished 1 for 3. Voth picked up the win for KHS as she threw all five innings.
The freshman gave up three hits and an unearned run. She struck out eight and didn’t walk a batter.
