Daryl Carrier
Daryl D. Carrier, 78, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Pioneer Park Assisted Living in Lone Tree. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 10, at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Columbus Junction.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, at the funeral home.
Following the funeral service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Columbus Junction American Legion.
Burial will be in the Kingfisher Cemetery in Kingfisher 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13.
Daryl Duane Carrier was born Oct. 21, 1945, in Oklahoma City, the son of Robert Jasper and Emma Luella (Homier) Carrier.
He was a graduate of Dover High School.
Daryl served in the National Guard. On Nov. 5, 1966, Daryl was united in marriage to Sharon Lee. The couple later divorced, but remained close friends.
He worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation as a maintenance supervisor for 24 ½ years and then Mincer Ford.
Daryl was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and Columbus Junction American Legion.
Daryl enjoyed collecting cans, walking, playing cards, shopping with his friend, Wayne, and spending time with his dogs, but most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.
Daryl will be deeply missed by his children, Dolores “Dee” (Reuben) Deese of Conesville, Donald Carrier of Columbus Junction, Kevin (Beth) Carrier of Columbus Junction and Devin (Stephanie) Carrier of Columbus City; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Daryl was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, David Carrier and Dale Carrier; and one sister, Karen McMillan.
