Shirley Smith
Shirley Ann Smith of Edmond passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on May 30, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy of love and beauty.
Shirley was born Feb. 18, 1937, to Edward and Georgia Struck in Kingfisher.
She attended Kingfisher High School and married Kenneth Lory Smith of Dover on June 1, 1956.
Together they made their home in Dover and were blessed with one child, a daughter, Lori Jannel.
Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Throughout the years she enjoyed spending her time with her family, traveling, sewing and was a great homemaker.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Dover Cemetery.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lory Smith; parents, Edward and Georgia Struck; her sister, Bernita Hayes and her husband, Thurman; her brother, Bill Struck and his wife Betty.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Pollard and her husband Brad Pollard of Crescent; three grandchildren, Brandi Hubert and her husband Michael of Prosper, Texas, Jessica Whiting and her husband Mark of Morrow, Ohio, and Dustin Pollard and his wife Jillian of Edmond; and seven great-grandchildren.
Shirley was a beacon of light with a love for beauty and in the end had a heart filled with gratitude. Her legacy lives on in the lives of those she leaves behind.
