Lady Jackets dominate home meet with 192 points

Kingfisher girls were the runaway winners Tuesday in their own meet.

The Lady Jackets scored 192 points to easily top a field of nine other teams at the Kingfi sher High School Invitational.

Scout Snodgrass once again claimed four gold medals -three of them in relays.

Her teams won the 800, mile and two-mile relays and the sophomore also claimed gold in the open 400.

Kinley Taylor joined her in each of those winning relays and was one spot behind her in the 400 meter run.

Abbie Myers took part in the 800 and mile relays, won the 300 meter hurdles and also took second in the long jump.

Mattie Slezickey also ran on the three winning relays.

Fellow freshman Lily Lunsford was part of the gold medal two-mile relay.

She then edged her sister in the pole vault as Lily was first and Emmy Lunsford the runner- up.

Harper Evans was another gold medalist for KHS as she won the two-mile run, the first of four straight Lady Jackets to finish the race at the top.

She was followed by Lily Lunsford, Addison Price and Chesni Newkirk.

Katelyn Harviston of Dover won the long jump as the senior cleared 4 feet, 10 inches.

She also took second in the 200 meter run, one spot ahead of Cashion’s Abby Hobgood and two spots ahead of her twin sister Karlee Harviston.

Karlee was also third in the 400 behind Snodgrass and Taylor.

Cashion was eighth in the meet with 51 points while Dover scored 28, good for ninth.

Clinton won the boys team title with 150 points while Perkins-Tryon took runner-up with 131.

The lone boys medalist from the county was Luke Baustert, who placed third in the pole vault by clearing 8-6.
