David Hobza, Jr.
David E. Hobza, Jr., 84, passed away April 1, 2024.
Born Aug. 17, 1939, David lived a full and vibrant life from beginning to end and touched the lives of many people along the way.
As a young boy growing up on a farm in Kingfisher, David always had an eagerness to work on his next project, which was usually a fast car or airplane.
This passion grew into a highly successful career in the aviation industry.
His work spanned many continents over several decades as he received multiple lifetime achievement awards and accolades.
Perhaps his biggest achievement was his investment in the lives of his friends and family. He could always make a new friend or help a stranger after a nice meal and some good storytelling.
David was preceded in death by his second wife, Geneva Hobza.
He is survived by his two younger siblings and their spouses, Tom (Mary Ann) Hobza, Mary (Bill) Garms; his children David (Galina) Hobza III, Todd (Rebekah) Hobza and LaNita Hobza.
He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Since David was a lifelong rescuer of stray animals, the family encourages you to donate to an animal charity of your choice.
All who called David a friend are welcome to attend the viewing at Crawford Funeral Service in Edmond between noon and 3 p.m. Sunday April 7.
The memorial service is planned for 10 a.m. Monday April 8, at Crawford Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow at the Kingfisher Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest near his parents.
