Kingfisher County OHCE club members gather for Spring Council meeting
Kingfisher County OHCE members met March 12 for their annual Spring Council meeting at the Scissortail Crossing Events Venue in Kingfisher.
Omega OHCE served as the host group.
Dot Miller, county OHCE president, presided over the business meeting.
Jamie Akenhead, vice president of county OHCE, conducted the flag salute and OHCE Creed.
The minutes - as well as a devotion and meal blessing - were led by Ashley Cowan Neal, county OHCE secretary.
Desiree Austin, county treasurer, submitted the treasurer’s report.
Members learned the biblical meaning of the number 88, the Easter egg and the Easter bunny.
Members elected a “Best Dressed” member, which was Neal.
Lindy Peterman presented the program on health disparities in northwest Oklahoma.
Members took group pictures, took part in fellowship and dined on a meal provided by Omega OHCE member Pat Mann.
Peterman, FCS Extension educator, went over the 2024 Memorandum of Understanding and the 2024 Diversity Plan.
She invited the group to attend the state OHCE meeting in July. The OHCE week activity will be a club spotlight every day and there will be a county fair superintendent training in August for all superintendents and prospective superintendents.
Peterman then led the group in a discussion about OHCE, the future of OHCE and anything the members wanted to express. There is also a Facebook page for all members to use for sending each other important information.
Miller closed the meeting and thanked everyone for coming as well as wishing members a safe drive home.
