Donations to Fire Dept.

There will be a four-person wild cow milking competition Saturday night which requires a $200 entry fee with proceeds to the Hennessey Fire Department.

Rodeo planners have routinely made donations to the fire department, school groups and other volunteer organizations.

Wednesday Night Jackpot Entries open at 6 p.m. with a 7 p.m. start for the third annual Hennessey Jackpot.

It has an “80s theme” this year and there will be a cash prize for the best costume, said Cline, one of the organizers.

“Fresh walking calves will be used in calf roping and breakaway events,” he said.

Order of events (two rounds per event): Bulldogging, calf roping, breakaway.

Thursday Night Ranch Rodeo

The 3-in-1 (load one, tie one and doctor one) ranch rodeo starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Hennessey Arena with four man teams. Competitors may be on multiple teams and there will be an 80% payback. Call Cline by Aug. 15 to enter the ranch rodeo.
