Reagan ace helps spur JV golfers to runner-up
Not even facing the teeth of a stiff wind could keep Cale Reagan from golf fate.
The Kingfisher High School freshman blasted a knock-down 9-iron into that wind on the 12th hole at the International Course at Cedar Valley Golf Club.
That shot eventually found its way right into the hole.
The hole-in-one highlighted a day that saw Kingfisher’s JV squad take second place in the John Marshall Invitational at the Guthrie course.
Reagan’s ace on the 128-yard par-3 helped him shoot an 86, which tied him for eighth individually.
It was his classmate - Luciano Orozco - who led the team.
Orozco shot an 85 to finish seventh. Paytun Burnham just missed the top-10 as his 88 tied him for 11th.
Ryan Sanders added a 95 and Sam Wood a 99.
KHS shot a 354. Perkins-Tryon’s varsity team won the tournament with a 338.
Kingfisher was three strokes better than Ponca City. Choctaw and Yukon tied for fourth with 378s.
