Friesen, Jackets make Tornadoes see ‘red’
Kingfisher needed to get back on the winning track.
Clinton happened to be in the way.
The Jackets used a 15-0 run in the first quarter Tuesday to help dispose of the host Red Tornadoes 66-28.
The win came four days after the Jackets were defeated at home against Weatherford.
Clinton didn’t pose the same threat.
The Jackets scored the first six points of the game and, after a Clinton 3-pointer, used a big push to build a 21-3 advantage.
Senior Drake Friesen did his part.
He nailed two treys of his own and scored 10 points in the quarter.
Friesen finished with four made 3-pointers and led all scorers with 16 points.
The Jackets made 12 treys as a team.
Cash Slezickey and Xavier Ridenour each made two apiece.
Ridenour scored 12 in the game and Slezickey had eight.
The Jackets led 39-13 at halftime and then put a 14-3 run on the Reds in the third quarter.
Starters didn’t see the floor in the fourth.
Caden Kitchens chipped in 11 points while Jax Sternberger dished out seven assists and had five rebounds to go with his four points.
The Jackets were 17-3 after the win.
