KHS tops Empire on wrestling mat
Kingfisher’s wrestling team drove two hours one way on Tuesday night.
It proved worth it as the Jackets came home with their second dual win of the season.
KHS won all but one contested match as it defeated Empire 35-6.
The Jackets got just over half their points on three forfeits, but also got two victories with pins and another via technical fall.
That came from T.J. Washington as he outclassed Nathan Menga 22-6 at 190 pounds.
Jose Santoyo pinned Chase Kaspereit at 175 pounds and Robert Barnett did the same with Shad McDaniel at 215 pounds.
The Jackets’ Brayden Kochenower (132 pounds), Damien Haynes (138) and Landon Schroeder (285) got the forfeit victories.
KHS has a dual at Clinton on Thursday, then takes part in the Hub City Classic in Clinton the next two days.
