Gregory ‘Greg’ Farrell

Gregory Alan Farrell, 71, of Kingfisher, went to his eternal home on Jan. 10, 2023, after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Greg was born to Betty (Mark) and Joe Farrell in Enid on Sept. 28, 1951, but was raised in Kingfisher.

He graduated from Kingfi sher High School in 1969 and then went on to Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he would later graduate in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in business.

He married the love of his life, Deborah (Debbie) Hill, on Aug. 23, 1974. They celebrated 48 wonderful years of marriage.

Greg was well known in the community as a “parts man.”

His family established F-M Auto Parts in 1969 where he immediately went to work after earning his degree.

After the business transitioned to O’Reilly’s, he continued to work there for another couple years.

He then worked for Ford New Holland for two years and then 20 years at P&K Equipment.

He finally closed the parts catalog and fully retired in the spring of 2019.

Greg did not know “downtime.”

He loved working in his shop. He owned every woodworking tool available.

He was always piddling in the yard, working in his garden and cleaning the pool.

When his kids were young, every weekend was spent camping with family and friends.

He was a devoted Catholic and never missed church. He served his church faithfully all of his life.

He served in every aspect, from altar boy to usher to eucharistic minister. He also was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus and served as past Grand Knight.

In later years, his schedule was kept busy with exciting adventures with friends and watching his grandkids play ball.

He is survived by his wife Debbie of the home, his son Scott Farrell and wife Stephanie of Kingfisher and his daughter Heather Wittrock and husband Jeff of Kingfisher.

He is also survived by his six grandkids: Madison, Mia and Christian Farrell, and Hayden, Hannah and Hunter Wittrock; his brothers Jeff Farrell and wife Paula, James Farrell and wife Jennifer; sister Kathy Havener; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Betty Farrell, his brother Mark Farrell, his in-laws Bob and Vinalee Hill, and his brother- in-law Bob Havener.

A celebration of Greg’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with a Wake Service at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16. Services are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Church or American Cancer Society.
