Robert Cox
Robert Cox, 76, of Kingfi sher, passed away Oct. 22, 2022.
Robert was born July 2, 1946, in Tulsa to Earl and Twilla Cox.
Robert grew up in Midwest City and was actively involved in music and athletics from an early age through high school.
After he graduated from Midwest City High School in 1964, Robert went on to study at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he played the trumpet in the marching and concert bands.
He received his bachelor of science degree followed by a certification in medical technology from the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
Robert married his first wife, Gayle Mecklenburg Cox, Aug. 10, 1969, and they had two children.
He was very involved through his kids’ athletics, coaching and supporting them throughout their lives.
Robert had careers in sales, working in medical and insurance sales, and the medical field where he worked at Kingfisher Regional Hospital as the director of laboratory for many years until his retirement.
Robert met Pauletta in 2000; they were married Dec. 13, 2003, in Eureka Springs, Ark., and lived in Kingfisher for the last 19 years.
Robert enjoyed golfing, boating, camping, OU football and traveling with Pauletta for many years to Port Aransas, Texas, and the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
Robert is survived by his wife Pauletta Cox; his two children, Brandon Cox of Oklahoma City and Kendra Morgan and husband Ryan of Tulsa; six grandchildren and 11 step-grandchildren; one brother, Don Cox of Edmond; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cox.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Sanders Funeral Chapel in Kingfisher with burial services to follow at Kingfisher Cemetery.
