Norma Finley
Norma Bea Finley, 93, of Kingfisher, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at Cimarron Nursing Center after a brief illness.
Funeral service was Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Kingfisher First Baptist Church under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home-Kingfisher.
Norma was born Feb. 27, 1929, to Leamon H. and Thelma L. Wadley at their home in Meade, Kan., the second of four children.
The family moved to Minneola, Kan., when she was 5 years old.
Norma moved with her family to California and she attended school in Inglewood until she was a freshman in high school.
The family relocated to Guymon where she graduated from high school in 1948.
She married Kenneth Waymon Finley on June 4, 1949, in Guymon.
The couple became the parents of three sons - Karol, Kim and Dean - while living in Guymon, then moved to Lindsay in 1956.
They moved to Kingfisher in 1968, where Norma remained the rest of her life.
Norma was a homemaker until her last son left home and then was employed at Walmart in 1975.
She enjoyed her job in the fabric department and worked there until her retirement in 1988.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a choir member for many years.
Kenneth and Norma spent many years in retirement traveling in their fifthwheel trailer and enjoyed making friends on their travels around the U.S.
They especially loved Branson, Mo., and Donna, Texas.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth; son Kim; and daughter-in-law Mary Finley; granddaughter Leah Albright; and siblings Keota, Verna and Dean.
She is survived by son Karol Finley and wife Sherri of Lindsay; daughter-in-law Judy Finley of Kansas City, Mo.; son Dean Finley and wife Ann of Kingfisher; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
