Hix accounts for 8 TDs, Eagles hammer Blackwell 61-7
Hennessey took care of the business it needed to the last two weeks.
Now it’s time for the Eagles to attempt to work their way into a playoff spot.
Titan Hix accounted for eight touchdowns Thursday as Hennessey blew past Blackwell 61-7 on the road.
It was the Eagles’ third straight win as they upped their overall record to 5-2. They’re now 3-1 in District 2A-1 games.
In the last two weeks, Hennessey has beaten its foes by a combined 124-7.

Hix accounted for a large bulk of that.
The freshman quarterback was 14 of 23 through the air for 350 yards and five touchdowns.
He ran for another 112 yards and three scores while averaging 10.1 yards per carry.
All three TD runs came in the first two quarters as Hennessey took a 27-0 halftime lead.
After throwing a 48-yard TD pass to Kevin Trillo less than two minutes into the game, Hix had scoring runs of 37, 7 and 13 yards.
He went back to the air in the third quarter with three touchdown passes.
Weston Smith hauled one in from 74 yards out and then Seth Simunek from 25 yards just 11 seconds later.
Trillo then caught his second touchdown, this one from 55 yards.
Smith capped the touchdowns through the air as he caught a 54-yard strike in the fourth.
Abe Prieto gave the Eagles their last TD with a 9-yard run with 3:39 to play.
Smith caught eight total passes for 178 yards. Trillo’s two hauls totaled 103 yards.
Mauricio Valles and Brandon Valles paced the defense with eight tackles apiece. Simunek added seven.
Hennessey is currently third in the district behind Millwood and Oklahoma Christian.
The Eagles host Alva on Friday, go to Millwood in Week 9 then cap the regular season at home against Newkirk.
Alva and Newkirk both currently sit at 2-2 in the district, meaning it likely will come down to three teams for the final two spots in the district.
