Barbara Sue Ottis
Barbara Sue Ottis passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the age of 69. She was born Oct. 9, 1952, in Okarche to Paul and Naomi Rother.
Barbara grew up in Okarche and graduated from Okarche High School in 1970.
She received her secretarial degree from Draughon’s Business School and bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University.
She married Dan Ottis on May 24, 1975.
They moved to Dillon, Colo., where she was employed at Keystone Resort and reached the position of convention sales manager.
In 1980, they moved back to Oklahoma and eventually settled in Norman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Brandon.
She is survived by her husband and three sons, Matthew (Lauren), Zac (Jurhee) and Conner. She is also survived by her two grandchildren Jalin and Christopher, and siblings Sam, Karen, Dale, Tim, Dan, Sherry, Teresa and Kevin.
She threw her passion into everything she did. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, seamstress, designer, real-tor, soccer mom and volunteer.
She was generous with her time and love, giving to many organizations and people less fortunate than her. She was fierce in her loyalty to her family, friends and neighbors.
She has left an indelible mark in this world to the betterment of all she touched. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
May she forever rest in peace.
Services were Wednesday, Aug. 3, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Norman.
