Patricia ‘Pat’ Stock
Patricia Ann Stock, 93, of Kingfisher, passed away June 7, 2022.
Pat, as everyone knew her, was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Kingfisher to Andrew and Emma Kuntz.
She graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1946 and then went on to attend Oklahoma State University.
She married Everett Stock of Omega on Aug. 13, 1949, a day so hot, she would say, that it was melting the candles at the wedding. They made their first residence in Omega.
Pat would often say that on her first trip to Omega she thought Everett was taking her to the ends of the world.
They would later move back to Kingfisher and before long they were blessed with three children: Jim, Rick and Cindy.
In addition to being a busy mother and a supportive farm wife for 65 years, Pat was a secretary for the Kingfisher Public Schools superintendent for 15 years.
She was also an active member of the Federated Church, serving on the church board and as a member of the Federated Women’s Association.
She enjoyed singing in the church choir as well as for weddings and funerals while her mother, Emma, accompanied her on the piano.
Pat was also a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Alpha Extension Club.
Pat loved playing pitch with her kids and grandkids, which started with her and Everett being in a card party club, which led to friendships that would last a lifetime.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by her three children, Dr. Jim Stock (Nancy) of Kingfisher, Dr. Rick Stock (Shari) of Walton, Neb., and Cindy Kubicek (Steve) of Baton Rouge, La.; seven grandchildren, Curt Stock (Ali), Mike Stock (Kristen), Brad Stock (Mandi), Jamie Cook (Drew), Katie Karabel (Jason), Kraig Kubicek (Amanda), Matt Kubicek (Kim).
Also, 15 great-grandchildren, Dylan and Ryan Stock; Tayler Collier and Emily Stock; Peyton Stock; Carter and Jack Cook; Jameson Karabel; Quinn, Evelyn, Eli and Sadie Kubicek; and Emma, Abbey and Lily Kubicek.
As life changed and Pat moved into the Homestead Assisted Living in Kingfisher, it has become known recently how much she was loved by the staff there.
She may have touched their lives, but they, as well as Traditions Hospice, truly touched her life, too, and the family is thankful for the wonderful care they gave their mom.
Memorials may be made to the Federated Church (400 W. Fay, Kingfisher, OK 73750) or charity of choice.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at Sanders Funeral Service Chapel with interment following at Kingfisher Cemetery.
