Arthur Bridal
Arthur Scott Bridal, 85, of Cashion, OK, was born March 9, 1937, to John and Mary Grace Scott Bridal. Arthur passed peacefully on June 8, 2022, in the presence of his family at his home outside of Cashion.
Art graduated from Cashion Public School in 1955 where he was active in the FFA program. He earned a Junior Master Farmer Award under the direction of John Dawes and Martin Howell. He studied Diesel Mechanics at Oklahoma A & M, Stillwater.
He entered Basic Training at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas on Nov. 3, 1957 with the 179th Infantry of the 45th Division. His service included an enlistment in the National Guard.
On April 30, 1961, he married Bette Lorraine Sharpe. They were happily married for 62 years and had two children, Anita born in 1963 and Sharon “Lori” born in 1967.
Art was a farmer his whole life, working side by side with his father for many years. They owned a cow-calf operation as well as farming wheat. His father, John, loved to take care of the cattle and Arthur loved everything about cultivating his fields. He was a member of the Central Oklahoma Antique Tractor Club and he enjoyed collecting and working on old tractors.
In recent years, Art had retired from farming. He rented his land to others, thus helping young farmers get a start in a demanding business. He visited his daughter Sharon and her family in France several times.
Arthur was preceded in death by his father and mother and is survived by his wife Bette, his sister, Loy Donna Markland, his daughters Anita (Husband Ron) Kemp and Lori Bridal (Husband Thierry Lhermitte), and his Granddaughter, Camille Lhermitte. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
