COVID issues affect local teams’ events
Kingfisher’s basketball games at Blanchard scheduled last Tuesday were postponed.
Blanchard reported multiple COVID-19 issues.
The games are now slated Feb. 10.
Issues also affected wrestling this weekend.
Kingfisher was set to host the Western Conference Wrestling Tournament Friday and Saturday.
However, all Kingfisher Public Schools activities have been called off until Tuesday, Jan. 18 (see story on Page 1).
With KHS unable to host the tournament, it was moved to Hinton.
As of press time for this edition, all school activities are slated to resume beginning Tuesday, but Kingfisher’s games at Bethany have been postponed until Feb. 14.
The wrestling team takes part Thursday in district duals at Tuttle.
COVID has also affected some other local basketball teams.
Lomega’s games at DCLA and Okarche’s home games with Thomas on Friday were postponed. No makeup date has been scheduled for them yet.
