In a bit of deja vu, Weatherford won its third straight girls Buckle of the Wheatbelt tournament championship.

For the second straight year, the Lady Eagles defeated KHS in the finals.

This time around the final margin was 49- 35 as Class 4A’s fourth-ranked Lady Eagles improved to 15-0. Weatherford won last year’s title with a 53- 34 victory in the final.

While Kingfisher’s defense was solid for much of the game, the Lady Jackets shot just 30 percent and turned it over 22 times.

Weatherford scored 21 points off the KHS turnovers.

The turnover and shooting woes were compounded in the first half when Kingfisher managed just five field goals and 12 points. That allowed Weatherford to build a 16-point lead.

KHS doubled its output in the third quarter as Kina Frost and Ally Stephenson made Kingfisher’s first 3-pointers of the night.

Unfortunately those were the only two treys made by the Lady Jackets and they couldn’t cut into Weatherford’s lead.

They did make a mark in the deficit in the fourth, but never enough to threaten a full comeback.

KHS was just 2 of 17 (12 percent) from 3-point range and 13 of 44 overall.

Weatherford only shot 33 percent for the contest and turned it over 17 times, but only allowed KHS nine points off those miscues.

Stephenson and Jenni Beebe paced KHS with eight points apiece.

Britt Taylor added six points and seven rebounds while Frost also scored six.

The Lady Jackets got to the final with a 52-41 win Friday against Harrah.

Stephenson went 10 of 12 from the free throw line to lead Kingfisher with 12 points.

Allison Green and Rayland Garner scored 11 apiece. Beebe scored six and grabbed nine rebounds.

Kingfisher’s loss to Weatherford snapped a four-game win streak. The Lady Jackets are currently 11-5. All five defeats are to ranked teams.

In other girls games Saturday:

Harrah bounced back from the KHS loss to beat Guymon 62-46 for third place.

Oklahoma Christian Academy took the consolation crown with a 62- 61 overtime win against Guthrie.

Chisholm salvaged seventh place by defeating Douglass 57-30.
