Two county teams eliminated at area
Cashion’s girls and Hennessey’s boys saw their seasons come to an end Thursday.
The Lady Wildcats were knocked out of their 2A area by fellow Three Rivers Conference foe, Watonga, 53-47.
Cashion had played Tuesday in a regional final, but was sent to the area consolation bracket with a 45-36 loss to Riverside at home.
Thursday’s loss was at Hennessey’s Eagle Event Center. Cashion was 14- 13 this year.
Hennessey was knocked out of its 3A area with a 55-38 defeat to No. 14 Community Christian at Enid High School.
It was Hennessey’s third straight game against a ranked foe.
The Eagles were defeated 42-27 Tuesday by No. 13 Washington in a regional championship game at Perry.
Hennessey had previously upset No. 3 Alva in that regional.
The Eagles ended their 2021-22 campaign with a 15-9 record.
