Tuttle dominates district duals
Top-ranked Tuttle easily took care of the competition during District 4A-2 duals on Thursday.
Wrestling on their home mats, the Tigers qualified for dual state by defeating Kingfisher, Douglass and Newcastle in an afternoon of round-robin duals.
Tuttle has won dual state 12 consecutive years.
The Tigers defeated KHS 75-6. They also got wins of 71-3 against Newcastle and 78-6 over Douglass.
The Jackets went 1-2 during the day.
They were defeated 45- 17 by the Racers, but defeated Douglass 42-4.
“We hung tough with Newcastle for a while, but just had too many forfeits,” said coach Bryan Dutton. “We had several guys out, so that hurt us.”
The Jackets were supposed to take part in a tournament at Plainview over the weekend, but the tournament was canceled late Thursday.
Instead, KHS was set to return to Tuttle for a tournament there on Friday and Saturday.
