Trio named OCA All-State in football
Three Kingfisher County football players have earned one of the top honors for prep players in the state.
Cashion’s Ryan Baker and Kingfisher’s Wes Hine and Riley Myers were selected to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team, it was announced Monday.
The trio will represent the West when it takes on All-State selections from the East at the annual OCA All-State football game to be played at Bixby High School the last week of July.
Baker was a three-year starter on the offensive line for Cashion, but also started on the defensive front his senior year.
That’s the position for which he was selected.
He recorded 47 tackles as a senior, including 13 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks.
Baker helped the Wildcats to a 13-1 record and a spot in the Class A state title game in 2019.
He will be a preferred walk-on at Oklahoma State University in the fall.
Hine was selected as an offensive linemen where he started for two years after moving to Kingfisher at the start of his junior year.
Listed at 6-foot-5, 280 pounds, Hine anchored a line that helped KHS reach the 3A semifinals in 2018 and the quarterfinals in 2019.
He fielded multiple offers to play collegiately and signed earlier this winter to play at the University of Northern Iowa.

During his senior campaign, Myers was third on the team with 64 tackles.
That included nine tackles for a loss and a pair of sacks.
Myers recently committed to play for Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
To be selected to the All-State team, which includes all classifications, players first had to earn spots on the All-Star teams for each individual class.
Four other local players were also named All-Star by class.
They were Keaton Abercrombie of Kingfisher, Colton Ogletree and Alex Nabavi of Cashion and Trent Fisher of Crescent.
