Slezickey leads KHS to season-best round
A career round by senior Cash Slezickey led Kingfisher to a third-place finish at the loaded Bluejay Bash golf tournament.
Slezickey fired off an even-par 72 Thursday at Lake Hefner Golf Club’s North Course.
His round consisted of four birdies, four bogeys and 10 pars on a cool, rainy and wet round of golf.
He was one of three Jackets to place in the top-10 individually.
Teammates and fellow seniors Blake Hill and Tristun Burnham carded 73s.
Slezickey tied for sixth with his score and Hill and Burnham tied for 10th.
KHS also got an 81 from Myles Harrison and an 84 from Jax Sternberger.
The 299 total was Kingfi sher’s lowest round of the season.
Only Heritage Hall’s 287 and Plainview’s 288 bested the Jackets in the tournament.
Kingfisher travels to Purcell on Monday for a 36-hole regional at Brent Bruehl Memorial Golf Course.
If KHS can place among the top six teams, it will advance to next week’s state tournament in Ardmore.
Individually for KHS at the Bluejay Bash, Cale Reagan shot an 84 and Paytun Burnham an 87.
