Seiling earns home sweep over Cashion
Cashion tried to climb out of its hole.
The Wildcats just couldn’t quite make it.
Cashion suffered its third straight defeat Tuesday when it was dealt a 61-45 loss at Class A’s fifth-ranked Seiling.
The home team led 23-6 after a quarter, then started the second on a 6-0 run.
Cashion closed the half on a 13-5 spurt and eventually got its deficit to seven points late in the third quarter.
But that’s as close as it got.
“We lost by double digits because of our turnovers,” said coach John Hardaway, whose team is now 6-5.
His squad had 20 turnovers in the game while Seiling had just nine.
Chance Acord delivered a double-double and one of his teammates fell just shy of one.
Acord led the Wildcats with 13 points and also had 10 rebounds.
Jackson Vandruff also pulled down 10 boards and scored eight points.
Jacob Colvard paced Seiling (10-0) with 21 points while Hudson Hamar added 17.
