Road to gold

The OSSAA released basketball playoff assignments last Friday for Classes 2A-4A.

For the most part, local teams get to stay relatively close to home for the duration of their playoff runs.

In Class 4A, Kingfisher will host both district and regional tournaments.

The KHS squads will take part in an area tournament that will be held at Enid’s Stride Bank Center.

Hennessey has to travel to Lindsay for a Class 3A district, but will host the first round of the regional.

The rest of its regional is at Perry and then the area at Enid High School.

In Class 2A, Crescent travels to Amber-Pocasset for a district and the first day of the regional tournament.

Cashion, meanwhile, hosts a district and a regional.

Then, it’s a short drive to Hennessey for the area tournament.

Districts begin in less than two weeks.

Teams in all classes that are a part of Districts 1, 2, 5 and 6 will play their district games on Saturday, Feb. 19.

Those in Districts 3, 4, 7 and 8 will play their district games Friday, Feb. 18.

Regionals are Feb. 24-26 and the area tournaments are March 3-5.
