Okarche girls headed to TOC

Turns out the 2022 Tournament of Champions is going to have a strong Kingfisher County flavor.

It was reported last week that the Kingfisher High School boys had accepted an invitation to play in next season’s tournament.

Their neighbors to the south - the Okarche Lady Warriors - will also be a part of the tournament.

Okarche late last week accepted an invite to take part in the girls’ bracket.

The tournament will be played Dec. 28-30 at the BOK Center in Tulsa.

Okarche will be the smallest school in the field.

Also accepting invites were 6A schools Bixby and Norman, Sapulpa from 5A, Holland Hall from 4A, Class 3A’s Lincoln Christian and Kiefer and 2A Pocola.

The boys field had yet to be finalized at press time.
