NO CHANCE
Short-handed Clinton swarmed by KHS boys
Clinton’s task of knocking off top-ranked Kingfisher was grand enough as it was.
The fact the Red Tornadoes were missing two starters and another key contributor made it a nearly impossible one.
KHS, meanwhile, was fully loaded in its 79-30 conference win inside the Tornado Dome on Friday.
The Jackets started quickly and never trailed as they upped their overall record to 11-1 and their Western Athletic Conference mark to 5-0.
Matthew Stone scored 23 points and had 10 rebounds to lead the way.
Bijan Cortes added 21 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
The Jackets also forced 25 turnovers and produced 28 points out of them.
They also out-rebounded Clinton 42-23. Their 18 offensive rebounds led to another 14 points.
Clinton was denied any second-chance points and shot just 27 percent (8 of 30) for the game.
No Clinton player reached double figures as Caden Powell led the team with seven points.
Kingfisher also got nine points from Maverick Ridenour.
Jarret Birdwell scored eight points to go with his seven rebounds. Ian Daugherty added five points.
