Heath Myers is once again looking down at the rest of the leaderboard of the Kingfisher Golf Association’s club championship.

Myers had just two bogeys over the weekend in shooting rounds of 65 and 63 at Kingfisher Golf Course.

His two-day total of 128 (12-under par) was nine strokes better than runner-up Cash Slezickey and 11 strokes ahead of defending champion Tristun Burnham.

It’s Myers’ 15th club championship. He last won in 2022.

Myers, Burnham and Slezickey played with Adam Perkey in Sunday’s final group.

Myers’ Saturday round of 5-under-par 65 was good for a two-stroke lead over Slezickey.

Perkey sat in third with his even-par 70 while Burnham shot 72.

It was the reigning champ who got off to the fastest start Sunday by collecting birdies on three of the first four holes. However, he gave those strokes back with a bogey on the par-3 sixth hole and a double- bogey on No. 8.

Slezickey - a 2023 Kingfi sher High School graduate along with Burnham - also made a charge on the front-nine.

The Oklahoma State University sophomore sandwiched a bogey on the fourth hole with birdies on Nos. 2, 3, 5 and 6.

When Myers bogeyed the par-3 seventh hole, Slezickey pulled even with him with his par.

However, Myers birdied the ninth hole to take a one stroke lead over Slezickey into the back-nine.

That’s when he took command of the tournament.

Slezickey was unable to card a birdie on the back and had three bogeys.

Perkey, who began the day with seven straight pars, was unable to close the gap on the front and then had four bogeys on the back-nine.

While Burnham, entering his sophomore season on the Southeastern Oklahoma State University mens golf team, made another move with a 3-under showing on the back-nine, he was unable to close the distance on Myers.

In fact, Myers widened the gap.

The KHS alum and local businessman was bogey-free on the back. He had birdies on 11, 14, 16 and eagled the par-5 17th hole.

Over the two days, Myers didn’t have a bogey on the back-nine while playing those holes 8-under.

Slezickey ended Sunday with a 70 for a 137 total.

Burnham’s 3-under 67 allowed him to finish at 139.

A.J. Nusz fired a 69 Sunday and had a 142 total for fourth place, tying him with Derek Patterson.

Patterson followed Saturday’s 74 with a 68 Sunday.

Jimmy Ladwig placed sixth with a 144 while Jarred Darrough and Perkey tied for seventh with their 145s.

Nusz and Ladwig tied for the handicap championship as they each netted 132.

Graham Myers, Heath’s son who will be a seventh grader this fall, finished ninth. He shot matching 73s for a 146.

Barrett Munger finished 10th with his 147.

Rick Thomas had his best round ever at Kingfisher on Sunday.

He carded a 65, which helped carry him to both the scratch and handicap championship for seniors (age 50-64).

Thomas shot 70 Saturday, which was one shot behind Chad Hart and tied with Jason Hampton.

His two-day gross of 135 ended up beating Hampton by four. Hampton shot 69 Sunday.

Hart was third with a 141.

John Grellner won the super seniors title as he shot rounds of 75 and 71.

The 146 edged Dale Foulk’s 148.

Dave Krittenbrink claimed the handicap title as she shot 77 and 82. His 133 handicap score beat Grellner by one stroke.
