McCabe a Jim Thorpe Award winner

Although she never got to compete in her senior track and field season, Cashion’s Madelyn McCabe still hauled in a big-time honor. The Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame last week announced its 2020 Jim Thorpe High School Player of the Year for various sports in the state. McCabe was named the winner for girls track and field. A multi-time state champion, McCabe signed to participate in track and field at Southeastern Louisiana University, a Division I program in Hammond, La. McCabe wasn’t the only Cashion honoree. Rylee Chamberlain received the Professional Athletes Foundation Scholarship Award, it was also announced. McCabe and Chamberlain are 2020 graduates of Cashion High School. [Photos provided]
