Marsh pours in 32 to lead Raider win
Lomega got a break in its schedule…before it got a break in its schedule.
The Raiders celebrated homecoming last Friday night with an 85-25 victory against visiting Burlington.
The win snapped a three-game losing skid, which came agaainst teams that returned nearly their entire rosters from state tournament qualifiers last season.
Burlington didn’t offer the same kind of opposing firepower.
Nor did the Elks have an answer for Ben Marsh.
The junior torched the nets for 32 points.
He scored 11 in each of the first two quarters as Lomega took control of the game early.
His second-quarter outburst was part of a 31-0 Lomega run that helped it open up a 52-6 halftime lead.
Chase Burton buried two 3-pointers during that run while freshman Noah Lentz came off the bench to score five.
Marsh scored at least five points in every quarter and made four of Lomega’s eight 3-pointers.
The Raiders also got 10 points from Burton.
Traver Duffy, crowned homecoming king prior to the girls’ game, added eight points and Lentz scored seven as Lomega improve to 2-3.
The team now has two weeks off from games.
The Raiders return to action Dec. 1 when they host Vici.
