No big comeback was needed this time.

Lomega improved to 2-0 Tuesday night with a 61-54 victory over visiting Drummond.

It came three nights after the Raiders had to erase a double-digit deficit to knock off Dover in the season opener.

This time around, the Raiders virtually led the entire night, built a big cushion, then held off a furious Bulldog rally.

The Raider lead was 12 at halftime and 15 after three quarters.

That’s when Colten Dillingham and Tyler Norris began to heat up for the visitors.

Dillingham hit three treys and scored 11 of his game-high 23 points in the fourth. Norris scored eight of his 19 during that stretch.

ButtheBulldogscouldn’t fully catch up.

Freshman Lance Yost helped offset some of that scoring with eight points in the fourth for Lomega.

He scored 14 of his 18 in the second half.

He was one of four Raiders to score in double figures.

Owen Duffy and Brooks Uhlenhake scored 11 points apiece.

Kelby Ott added 10. He made three 3-pointers, but none in the first.

Jonah Pendergraft nailed two while Uhlenhake and Ben Marsh had one each as the Raiders got out to a 17-12 lead.

Duffy and Uhlenhake combined for nine in the second to lead their team on a 14-7 run.

Lady Raiders overpower Drummond in 2nd half

Drummond had a nice one-two scoring punch.

Lomega had a better one. The visiting Lady Bulldogs tried to make a run at Lomega, but couldn’t maintain it Tuesday in a 74-51 win for the home team.

Cambree Kirchner and Kate Spring combined for 15 points in the second quarter as Drummond cut an 11-point deficit down to just six by halftime.

Enter Abby Swart and Darcy Roberts.

After a relatively quiet first half, Swart erupted for 16 points in the final two quarters.

Roberts entered the half already with 11 points, but scored nine in the third quarter as Lomega extended its lead to 52-36.

Kirchner and Spring began to warm back up in the fourth, but were scorched by Swart.

The junior guard nailed four 3-pointers and finished with 20 points.

Roberts ended her night with a game-high 25.

Kirchner led Drummond with 20 while Spring scored 15.

Lomega also got eight points from Sydni Walker.

Eight different Lady Raiders scored in all.
