The Dover Lady Longhorns extended their softball season at least one more week.

Dover won three games on Thursday to claim a Class B softball district championship at Macomb.

The Lady Longhorns opened with a 17-1 victory over host Macomb.

They followed that up with back-to-back wins of 12-2 and then 9-7 over Mulhall-Orlando to claim the district crown.

That puts Dover into this week’s regional tournament.

The OSSAA will release regional brackets Tuesday.

The regionals will be played Thursday and Friday.

Dover will enter the regional with a 15-16 record. The Lady Longhorns have won eight of their last 10 games.

Okarche’s Class A district title hopes ended in disappointing fashion late Thursday night.

The Lady Warriors were defeated 10-9 by Laverne in the district championship game at Garber.

They faced a lightning delay in their first game before earning a 10-2 win over Garber.

Okarche followed it up with a 5-3 loss to Laverne, meaning the Lady Warriors would need two straight wins for the district championship.

They got one of those as they forced the decisive game with a 7-6 victory before Laverne squeaked out the one-run win in the finale.

Okarche ended its season with an 18-13 record in Skye Tilley’s first season as head coach.

Dover’s baseball season was put to a halt in a Class B district at Calumet.

The second-ranked Chieftains earned wins of 12-0 and 15-0 against Dover to claim the district championship and move into the regional round.

Dover had opened the district with an 11-0 victory against Carney, which had also been defeated 15-0 by Calumet.

The Chieftains (25-1) didn’t allow a run in the district and have given up either one or no runs in their last 11 games.

Dover’s season ended with a 7-17 record.

Lomega’s baseball season was still alive at press time.

The Raiders downed Cimarron 15-3 to open their Class B district at Hammon.

The seventh-ranked Warriors then beat Lomega 12-0 in the final game Thursday.

That put Lomega within one loss of elimination and needing to beat Hammon twice on Friday.
