Kingfisher, Hennessey girls among top teams at junior high all-star XC meet
Local junior high cross country teams wrapped up their seasons Oct. 15 at the 27th annual Oklahoma Junior High All-Star Cross Country Championships at Chickasha.
From a team perspective, the Kingfisher girls and Hennessey girls were among the top performers.
The Lady Jackets took fourth in the 4A team standings while Hennessey was fourth in Class 3A.
Kingfisher was part of a talented, tight-knit group at the top of Class 4A as Pauls Valley won the meet with 47 points.
Madill was next with 58, Plainview third with 74 and KMS followed with just 76 points.
The team was led by Scout Snodgrass, who took fifth place individually out of 87 runners.
She ran the 2,600 meter course in 9:21.39.
Liberty Starr took 11th in 9:48.51.
Also scoring for KMS were Lily Lunsford, 14th in 9:54.21; Natalie Garrett 22nd (21st in team standings) and Terry Ann McCully 26th (25th).
Other KMS runners included: Talor Mecklenburg 35th (32nd), Harper Evans 42nd (36th), Kinley Taylor 46th, Addie Wilson 49th, Abbie Myers 57th, Hailey Bieren 62nd, Hinsley Brodrick 67th, Zoey Lukasek 68th, Sophia Dudzinski 78th, Adah Anderman 80th and Kameryn Purintun 81st.
Will Neuman was fifth in the 4A boys race for Kingfisher.
He ran the 3,200 meters in 12:42.59.
Conner Askey was 31st and Alezandro Cuellar 50th for KMS.
In 3A girls, Marietta won the team title with 33 points.
Washington (94) and Kiefer (100) were next while Hennessey scored 104 points.
Tayler Franklin ran fifth to pace the Lady Eagles.
Star Torres was 12th (11th).
Also placing for Hennessey were Jocelyn Matousek 16th (15th), Emma Sipe 30th (27th) and Johanna Matousek 59th (46th).
The Hennessey boys finished fifth in the 3A standings.
Brok Cooper’s 13thplace finish (12th) led the way.
Alonso Holguin was one spot behind him while Gabriel Roman took 25th (23rd) to finish among the Eagle leaders.
In the 2A girls’ race, Lomega’s Aubree Geisler finished 15th and Claire Myers 18th.
Dover’s Rori Wood was 34th and Cashion’s Addison McCraken was right behind her.
The Dover boys were seventh in the 2A boys competition.
Jessy Price was 14th (10th) overall and Servando Velazquez took 25th (18th).
