KHS girls win WAC XC crown
Despite not being at full strength, Kingfisher’s girls dominated the standings of the Western Athletic Conference Cross Country Meet.
The Lady Jacketsclaimed four of the top five spots and scored just 39 points at Elk City Lake Park in winning the conference crown.
Weatherford was the runner-up with 56 points while Anadarko took third with 67.
Scout Snodgrass is the conference champion after running the 3,200 meter course in 13:41.76.
Her teammate Lily Lunsford was the runner- up in 14:08.30.
Harper Evans placed fourth and Terry Ann McCully fifth for KHS. They crossed the line in 14:39.94 and 14:44.20, respectively.
Rylee Long-Bush rounded out Kingfisher’s scoring with her 27th place finish in 17:32.74.
KHS had three boys compete and they were paced by Wyatt Long.
He was sixth overall and ran the 5 kilometer course in 20:32.36.
Chance Dunn placed 18th in 23:12.61 and Conner Askey 20th in 23:30.06.
Kingfisher will compete Thursday, Oct. 10, in the Heritage Hall Cross Country Meet.
Girls will run at 9 a.m. and the boys at 9:30 a.m.
Middle school girls and boys have races at 11 and 11:30 a.m., respectively.
