KHS girls take 3rd at Watonga XC meet
Trio of Lady Jackets pick up medals while Cashion’s Baustert is top county boys runner
Three Lady Jackets grabbed medals Saturday as Kingfisher High School’s girls took third place in the Watonga Cross Country Invitational.
Scout Snodgrass placed fourth overall, Lily Lunsford eighth and Harper Evans 20th in the 2,500 meter race.
For scoring purposes, their placings counted third, seventh and 16th, respectively as KHS scored 115 points in the meet.
That put the Lady Jackets behind champion Hooker’s 33 points and runner-up Watonga’s 95.
Terry Ann McCully was 36th (27th) for Kingfisher and Rylee Long-Bush 85th (62nd) to round out the team’s scorers.
Cashion’s Addison Mc-Cracken placed 32nd running as an individual.
There were 125 runners in the high school girls race.
Luke Baustert of Cashion was the highest-placing high school boys runner.
Baustert took eighth place in that 4,000 meter race.
He was joined by Kingfi sher’s Wyatt Long in medaling.
Long was 23rd as the top-30 placers earn medals.
Also for KHS, Conner Askey was 71st and Chance Dunn 89th out of 147 competitors.
Cashion’s Cole Baustert placed 40th while Dover’s Nathan Cohee was 49th.
No county school fielded a full boys’ team.
