HOLD ON
Dover does just enough in 4th to secure win at PC-H
Whether missing players or their head coach, the Dover girls continue to find ways to win.
This time the Lady Longhorns were without coach Brett Pitts for a second straight game.
Still they held on to defeat Pond Creek-Hunter 38-31.
It was Dover’s third straight win and fifth in six games since the Christmas break. During that stretch, Dover has been missing either Pitts or other key players due to COVID-19.
Against Pond Creek, Karlee Harviston helped get Dover to the fourth quarter with a big lead and Katelyn Harviston did her part to secure the win.
Karlee scored a gamehigh 14 points, including eight in the third quarter as Dover turned a five-point halftime lead into a 33-20 advantage.
The Lady Longhorns only scored five in the fourth quarter - all from Katelyn.
She ended her night with 11 points and was 3 of 5 from the foul line in the final frame.
Dover also got six points from Karlee McNulty in the game.
Ranked 19th in Class B, the Lady Longhorns are now 13-5 on the season.
Panthers use 2 strong quarters to top Dover

However, the hometown Panthers outscored Dover 28-16 over the next two quarters and didn’t allow the Longhorns to cut deep into their deficit in the fourth.
