Harvistons drop 40 in Dover’s win over Cov-Doug
Covington- Douglas wasn’t seeing double on Tuesday.
It was just seeing both of the Harviston twins.
The juniors combined for 40 points to lift Dover to a 47-39 win at home.
It was Dover’s fourth straight victory as it moved the Lady Longhorns to 6-2 on the season.
After dominating the first quarter, Dover gave up 19 points in the second and trailed 21-20 at halftime.
Katelyn Harviston scored six and Karlee Harviston five in the third as Dover reclaimed a three-point lead.
The two then combined for all but one of Dover’s 13 points in the fourth quarter.
Katelyn was 4 of 5 from the line and also hit a 3-pointer in the final stanza.
She led all scorers with 22 points.
Karlee was 3 of 5 from the charity stripe over the final eight minutes and ended her night with 18.
Covington-Douglas had three scorers reach double figures. It was led by Allie Stowers’ 13.
Wildcats win 4th quarter to claim victory
Covington- Douglas pulled away in the fourth quarter Tuesday to earn a 49-38 win at Dover.
The Longhorns were tied with their guests entering the final quarter before being outscored 18-7.
The Wildcats were 8 of 8 from the free throw line in the final frame and got points from five different players.
Ford Smith eventually led three in double figures with 17.
Dover was pacd by Kolten Shaw’s 14 points. He scored 10 in the second half.
Carlos Flores scored nine, all on 3-pointers.
Two of those came in the third quarter when Dover tied the game after trailing 19-16 at halftime.
The loss dropped Dover to 3-5.
