Football outcome will dictate start of KHS basketball

A win by Kingfisher’s football team at Holland Hall on Friday (after press time of this edition) will delay the scheduled start of the KHS basketball seasons.

The season is tentatively scheduled to begin Tuesday, Dec. 1, with Newcastle visiting the APB.

If the Jackets beat the Dutch on the football field and advance to the Class 3A semifinals, that game season opener as well as the Dec. 4 game at Elgin will be postponed, according to Athletic Director Jay Wood.

Should the football season end in Tulsa on Friday, the basketball season will begin on schedule, Wood said.
